Multi-pitch climbing in Cochamo

Granite walls of thousand meters of height – like the ones in Yosemite Valley – just a journey south of Pto. Varas, Cochamó is our multi pitch and big wall mecca.

With a young development (+- from the year 2.000) the area has continued growth and expanding the possibilities for different grades and climb types. Most of the big wall routes has between 8 to 20+ pitches, but there are also single pitch routes (sport, trad and mixed) allowing climbing even when it is raining.

“The Shark’s Fin Ridge,” (525m, 5.10+, 10 Pitches)” is one of the most beautiful and classic moderate lines from Cochamó. With a ridge climb that will welcome us to the upper part of the French valley and great views of the area. It requires previous experience in climbing, belaying and abseiling, but it do not demand a higher climbing grade, making it an excellent choice to begin in multi pitch or trad climbing, or to just have an unique life experience in Cochamo.
